Bridge City Sinners

Punk

Bridge City Sinners are a Portland, Oregon-based traditional string band that blends prohibition-era jazz with Appalachian death folk, creating a genre-defying sound that defies easy categorization. The band formed in 2016 after lead singer Libby (Lux) connected with bandmates through Craigslist and open mic performances, beginning their journey as street buskers before developing into a nationally touring supergroup. The quintet—featuring Libby on banjolele, Scott Michaud on upright bass, Clyde McGee on banjo, Lightnin' Luke on fiddle, and Michael Sinner on resonator guitar—maintains a DIY ethos by releasing albums through their self-founded label Flail Records. Their 2021 album 'Unholy Hymns' reached number 70 on the Billboard charts, and the band is known for their energetic live performances at festivals including Punk Rock Bowling, Muddy Roots, and the Bluegrass String Summit.
