Malstrom

Malstrom is an experimental trio from Cologne, Germany, consisting of Axel Zajac (guitar), Florian Walter (saxophone) and Jo Beyer (drums). The band blends progressive rock, nu metal and electronic music with an improvisational philosophy. In 2015 they won the European Burghauser Nachwuchs-Jazzpreis, and in 2017 took first place at the International Getxo Jazz Competition. Releases include "Klaus-Dieter" (2021) and "Bremen" (2025).
