Marteria, born Marten Laciny in Rostock, played for Germany's U-17 football squad and pursued an international modeling career before returning to music. His signature blend of hip-hop, pop, and electronic influences, delivered with poetic wordplay and a distinctive voice, has made him one of Germany's most celebrated rappers. His 2012 collaboration "Lila Wolken" with Yasha and Miss Platnum reached number one in the German charts.
