Blue Shell, Köln
SWMRS (pronounced 'Swimmers'), formerly known as Emily's Army, is an American punk rock band formed in Oakland, California in 2004 by childhood friends Cole Becker and Joey Armstrong, with Cole's brother Max Becker joining shortly after. The band draws influences from diverse sources including the Beach Boys and the Ramones to create their distinctive punk rock sound. After releasing two albums under their original name—Don't Be a Dick (2011) and Lost at Seventeen (2013)—they rebranded as SWMRS and released their third studio album, Drive North, in 2016 via Uncool Records. The band signed with Fueled by Ramen in October 2016, joining a roster that includes Paramore, Twenty One Pilots, and Panic! at the Disco. SWMRS has supported major acts including Muse on their 2019 Simulation Theory World Tour and has gained recognition for their fearless lyrics and energetic live performances.
