The Police
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. The trio consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar, primary songwriter), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums, percussion). The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s, considered one of the leaders of the new wave era, playing a style of rock influenced by reggae, jazz, and punk. They won six Grammy Awards and two Brit Awards. The band is among the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide.
