The Rions

The Rions are a Sydney-based indie rock band formed in 2016 by four school friends—Noah Blockley on lead vocals and bass, Harley Wilson on guitar, Asher McLean on guitar, and Tom Partington on drums—after a high school talent show at Barrenjoey High School, with their name stemming from a childhood mispronunciation of 'lion' by guitarist Harley. Drawing influences from Arctic Monkeys, Lime Cordiale, Spacey Jane, and Dayglow, they blend classic rock riffs with heartfelt indie melodies, winning Triple j’s Unearthed High 2021 with their single 'Night Light' and achieving over 60 million streams alongside two ARIA Gold Certified singles. Their explosive live shows have captivated audiences at festivals like Yours And Owls, NYE On The Hill, and SPIN OFF Festival, as well as venues including Enmore Theatre and The Brightside, building a loyal fanbase through sold-out national tours.
