Deathrock originators Christian Death are staging a historic reunion: The original 'Only Theatre of Pain' era lineup is back together. Rikk Agnew, James McGearty, and David Glass share the stage once again, joined by Gitane Demone. Eva O handles vocal duties, with Patrik Mata of Kommunity FK guesting. The setlist draws from the classic albums that co-founded the deathrock genre in the early 1980s.
In parallel, the documentary 'Rozz Williams: Romeo's Distress' by director Niko B premiered April 18 in Los Angeles — a cinematic memorial for the founder who passed in 1998, one of the scene's most tragic figures. On July 23, the vinyl single 'Flowers' follows, limited to just 500 copies via Cult Epics. For the gothic and deathrock scene, this reunion is a historically significant event — a rare chance to witness the very roots of an entire movement performed live.
