Nicko McBrain Announces Autobiography 'Hello Boys and Girls!' for October

Iron Maiden's longtime drummer Nicko McBrain is dropping his autobiography this autumn. 'Hello Boys and Girls!' arrives October 22, 2026 via Harper Nonfiction in hardback, ebook and audio formats — offering the first comprehensive look back on a career that's been tied to Britain's biggest heavy metal band since 1982.

From Brixton Kid to Maiden Drummer

From East London drum kid to sticksman of a band that has sold over 100 million records: McBrain tells, in his trademark humour, the story behind Iron Maiden's rise — from the recording of 'Piece of Mind' (1983) through stadium-sized world tours to the backstage anecdotes that never made it into any official band biography.

A Book to Close a Career

McBrain played his final Maiden gig on December 7, 2024 in São Paulo and announced his retirement shortly after. Now 73, he's putting the highlights down in book form — promised are tales of touring chaos, studio madness, personal low points, and the lifelong love of drumming that kept him on the Maiden stool for 42 years.

Pre-orders are already open at major bookshops.
