Rush Return – With a German Behind the Kit

Nobody saw this coming: Rush are making their comeback – and behind the drum kit sits none other than German drummer Anika Nilles. The "Fifty Something" tour brings Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson back to the stage after an 11-year hiatus.

Nilles, who built an international reputation through her YouTube presence and her work with the Nevell Collective, steps into the enormous shoes of the late Neil Peart (who passed in 2020). A German woman behind the kit of one of the greatest prog rock bands of all time – you couldn't make this story up.

North American dates for 2026 are confirmed, with European dates expected for early 2027. For all prog fans in NRW: keep your eyes peeled when the European tour is announced. Given the enormous demand, tickets will likely sell out in record time.

The choice of Nilles shows once again that the German music scene produces world-class talent – this time not in metal, but in the prog rock pantheon. 🤘
