Zwarte Cross is the largest paid festival in the Netherlands and the largest motocross event in the world, held annually in July in Lievelde in the Achterhoek region, attracting over 220,000 visitors. The name means "Black Cross" and refers to illegal motocross races from the 1960s; the first official edition took place in 1997. The festival combines music across all genres — from metal and rock to blues and reggae — with motocross, stunts, theatre, and comedy.
