Misery Index ist eine Death-Metal/Grindcore-Band, die 2001 in Baltimore, Maryland, gegründet wurde. Nach dem Ausscheiden von Jason Netherton und Kevin Talley bei Dying Fetus schlossen sich die beiden mit Mike Harrison und Sparky Voyles zusammen, um Misery Index zu gründen. Der Sound der Band vermischt Elemente aus Death Metal und Grindcore, gekennzeichnet durch aggressive Instrumentierung und soziopolitische Textthemen.
