Placebo ist eine britische Alternative-Rock-Band, die 1994 in London von Sänger Brian Molko und Bassist Stefan Olsdal gegründet wurde. Die Band wurde durch ihren androgyn geprägten Sound und Hits wie „Every You Every Me", „Pure Morning" und „The Bitter End" weltbekannt. Seit ihrer Gründung haben sie acht Studioalben veröffentlicht und zählen zu den einflussreichsten Alternative-Rock-Bands ihrer Generation.
