Die Sex Pistols gruendeten sich 1975 in London und sprengten mit ihrem Debuet Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols den Punk Rock in ganz Grossbritannien los. Singles wie Anarchy in the UK und God Save the Queen machten sie zur gefaehrlichsten Band Britanniens und loesten eine kulturelle Revolution aus, die die Regeln der Rockmusik neu schrieb. Die Originalbesetzung zerbrach 1978 nach einer chaotischen US-Tour, doch die Band fand sich seitdem mehrfach wieder zusammen. In der aktuellen Besetzung steht Frank Carter (Gallows, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes) als Saenger anstelle von Johnny Rotten auf der Buehne.
