Area South

Area South are a five-piece alternative metal band from Bonn, active since 2018. The band traces its roots to Bonn’s Südstadt and names Deftones, Tool and Mastodon as influences. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2021, followed by the singles “Please Set Me Free” (2025) and “You Betrayed Yourself a Thousand Times” (2026).
