"La Mort" – The Second Part of a Personal Trilogy
Anneke Van Giersbergen releases her EP "La Mort" on March 27 – the second part of her trilogy "La Vie, La Mort, L'Amour" (Life, Death, Love). Following "La Vie" in February 2025, this installment deals with loss: both of Anneke's parents passed away within two months of each other. "These songs reflect my emotions and thoughts during that challenging time," she says – while noting that not all songs are literally about death.
The four tracks – including the already released single "Red Sky" – blend atmospheric rock with 80s and 90s-inspired sounds, recorded with her full live band for an organic, warm feel. The lineup features violin, viola, reed instruments, and multi-layered vocals.

The physical vinyl edition arrives as a Record Store Day exclusive on April 18. Once all three EPs are complete, they'll be combined into a full-length album on CD and vinyl.
Live in Roermond – One Day After Release
The timing couldn't be better: just one day after release, Anneke takes the stage at ECI Cultuur Fabriek in Roermond on March 28. Fresh material, intimate atmosphere – this is going to be special. A second date follows on May 10 at Doornroosje in Nijmegen.
Fun fact: 2026 also marks the 30th anniversary of "Mandylion", The Gathering's landmark album. Anneke Van Giersbergen remains one of the most versatile voices in the scene.
