Buzzcocks, Airbourne & Violent Vira: Four Days of Full Throttle in the Ruhr!
From Thursday through Sunday, the Ruhr area explodes – over 90 shows are on the schedule! When punk legends meet Australian rock'n'roll and dark industrial parties, you know it's going to be loud. Whether arena stage or smoky basement – here are the highlights you can't miss.
The Week's Heavy Hitters
The opener is a true stunner: Buzzcocks play Thursday at Zeche Bochum! The British punk pioneers who wrote music history with "Ever Fallen in Love" and "Orgasm Addict" are still an absolute force live. Support from Pet Needs rounds out the evening – a night for everyone who loves real punk.
Friday brings the heat: Airbourne tear it up at Palladium Cologne. The Australian rock'n'roll berserkers deliver pure high-voltage sound at full blast. Support from Avalancheau and Asomvel completes the evening – this will blow the roof off!
Also Friday: Make Them Suffer bring their crushing metalcore to the Mitsubishi Electric Halle Düsseldorf, while guitar legend Michael Schenker shows at the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen why he remains among the best in the business.
The ultimate dark highlight comes Sunday: Violent Vira, Kim Dracula and VOWWS turn Die Kantine in Cologne into a dark industrial party. Three acts, one night – this is going to be intense.
Underground Gems and Local Heroes
Insider tip alert! The Chisel and Ultra Sect play Friday at Don't Panic in Essen – Oi! and street punk in the finest tradition, at exactly the right venue for it. If you're into British working-class punk, this is your spot.
On Saturday, local heroes Night In Gales return with support from Tyranthrope to Die Mühle in Duisburg – melodic death metal from the Ruhr for over 25 years! Also Saturday: Motorjesus thunder through Rare Guitar in Münster. The Bottrop veterans are a guarantee for uncompromising heavy rock.
Local heroes also hit Das Parkhaus in Duisburg-Meiderich, where Fool The Masses unleash their industrial metalcore – one of the most exciting bands in the region!
From Darkwave to Fun Metal – Something for Everyone
The darkwave faction gets their fix Friday with Wisborg and Manntra at Kulttempel Oberhausen. Sunday brings more darkness there: local heroes Hinfort bring post-punk and darkwave from Oberhausen to the stage.
A must for comedy metal fans: J.B.O. rock the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen on Saturday – the Erlangen fun-metallers are and remain cult. Prefer classic Swedish style? Bullet blast through Lukaz in Lünen on Saturday.
And at the Ratinger Hof in Düsseldorf, Hiraes and NOPREACHERS deliver melodic death metal at its finest on Sunday.
