Abi Wallenstein & Blues Culture

Abi Wallenstein, born 1945 in Jerusalem, has lived in Hamburg since the mid-1960s and is regarded as the 'father of the Hamburg blues scene'. With his band Blues Culture, featuring Steve Baker (harmonica, backing vocals) and Martin Röttger (cajón, percussion), he blends Piedmont and Delta blues with funk and rock elements. He has opened for artists including Joe Cocker, Fats Domino and Johnny Winter, and received nine German Blues Awards between 2011 and 2021.
