About KRACH
Somewhere near you, a band is playing tonight that you'll never hear about. Not because they're bad, but because the date is on a youth centre's website, in an Instagram story that'll be gone tomorrow, or on a poster taped to a lamppost on a street you never walk down.
That's what KRACH is for.
Who we are

KRACH is Biggi and Tobi. Siblings, grew up near Düsseldorf, somewhere between the Rhine and the Ruhr.
Biggi is the metal half. And as tends to happen with big sisters, whatever was blasting out of her room sooner or later ended up with her little brother. Tobi stuck with metal and at some point also took a wrong turn into punk.
Like most good ideas, KRACH started out of frustration. First the show we missed because we heard about it two days too late. Then every trip to another city: a quick look at what's on tonight, and an hour later you're stuck between Google, Instagram, Facebook and twelve club websites, half of which haven't been updated in years. At some point the question was just there: why is there no single place that lists it all?
So we built one. Tobi looks after the tech side: the app, the website and everything that collects the dates in the background. It started between the Rhine and the Ruhr, and now covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Why the small stages
The big arenas don't need us – though of course they're on here too. When a band sells out a stadium, everyone hears about it. But most shows happen somewhere else: in youth centres, basement clubs, the pub with a stage in the corner. That's where bands play who drive the van themselves and for whom every ticket sold counts.
Those are the ones we want people to find on KRACH. If someone ends up in a small club on a Tuesday night because of us, and grabs a shirt at the merch table on the way out, it was all worth it.
Right now there are 14,933 upcoming shows in the calendar. Still feels like too few.
What makes the cut
Rock, metal, punk, hardcore, goth, dark wave, industrial – and everything that has set up camp somewhere in between. Rock is rock: classic rock counts, stoner counts, and so does the cover band down the local pub. Tribute bands too, and we tell you who they're paying tribute to.
We cover Germany, Austria and Switzerland, plus the corners just across the border you'd happily drive to for a good show.
What doesn't
Jazz, Schlager, rap, kids' disco – nothing personal, wrong app.
Unless they share the bill. When a festival or a mixed night slots a singer-songwriter or a rap crew between two metal bands, we show the full line-up. You should know what's coming between changeovers.
Where the data comes from
We collect dates wherever shows get announced: on the websites of clubs, youth centres and festivals, on social media, on posters – and from you.
Things still slip through. Wrong date, cancelled show, a same-name band from New Zealand – it happens. That's when every report via the Correct button helps.
