Abyss (Dorfen)

Abyss was founded in 2009 by young musicians from the rural region around Dorfen/Erding in Bavaria, Germany. Their sound draws on early Swedish melodic black/death metal acts such as Dissection or Sacramentum, alternating between filigree instrumental passages and partly melodic, partly raw riffing. The band completed two European tours, released several EPs, and put out a split with Slovakian post-black metal band Besna.
