Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, founded in 1992 by guitarist and vocalist Aphazel. With albums such as "Svartalvheim" (1994) and "The Cainian Chronicle" (1996), the band belongs to the second wave of Norwegian black metal.
