Rock

Árstíðir, an Icelandic indie-folk rock band with chamber pop influences, formed in Reykjavík in 2008 as a trio of Daníel Auðunsson, Gunnar Már Jakobsson, and Ragnar Ólafsson, bonded by their passion for intricate vocal harmonies. Expanding to a sextet with cello, piano, and violin, they quickly achieved two number-one radio hits in Iceland like 'Sunday Morning' and released their self-titled debut album in 2009, followed by 'Svefns og vöku skil' in 2011 produced by Ólafur Arnalds. Renowned for their hypnotic live performances, including a viral train station rendition of the ancient hymn 'Heyr Himnasmiður' with over 6 million views, they won the Eiserner Eversteiner European Folk Music Award in 2012 and built a global fanbase through relentless touring across more than 30 countries.
