Bohren & der Club of Gore

Bohren & der Club of Gore was formed in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1988, initially playing metal and hardcore. Starting in 1992, the band developed its characteristic style, a mixture of jazz, doom metal, and ambient, which they describe as "doom ridden jazz music". In 1993, the group expanded its name as a tribute to the Dutch instrumental band Gore. The music is predominantly instrumental and characterized by minimalist slowness and dark, atmospheric moods.
