Cat o' Nine

Cat o' Nine play pirate folk from Gelsenkirchen. Classically trained viola meets guitar, driving bass and samba percussion; sea shanties and folk rock meet rock bite and a healthy dose of humour. The band was founded by Kathrin Kornas and Sascha Kaeufer as an offshoot of their punk projects, and the appetite for tales of sea, storm and tavern nights has stayed. Placements in the German Alternative Charts and the International Pirate Charts show the band is heard well beyond the Ruhr scene.
