Children of Bodom

Children of Bodom were a Finnish melodic death metal band formed in Espoo in 1993. Their sound tied neoclassical keyboard and guitar runs to thrash tempos and the unmistakable shriek of guitarist and singer Alexi Laiho; albums such as “Hatebreeder”, “Follow the Reaper” and “Hate Crew Deathroll” shaped a whole generation of European metal bands. The band played its final show in 2019, and Alexi Laiho died in December 2020. Four of the five original members have since come back together to play the songs live, with Samy Elbanna of Lost Society on vocals — framed explicitly as a tribute to Laiho and to the band's legacy.
