Cynthia Nickschas

Cynthia Nickschas is a German singer-songwriter from Tuttlingen who switched from piano to guitar at age 18 and began writing her own songs. After performing as a street musician, she founded her band Cynthia Nickschas & Friends in 2012 and was signed by Konstantin Wecker to his label Sturm & Klang. Her style blends folk and blues with socially critical lyrics; in 2014 she received the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung's support prize for young songwriters.
