Die ART

Die Art formed in Leipzig in 1985 out of the predecessor band Die Zucht and shaped the East German scene around reunification with dark, melancholic lyrics over punk and guitar-rock. Singer Holger "Makarios" Oley still leads the band; after albums such as "Fear" (1990), "Gold" (1991) and "Gift" (1993) the group split in 2001, reunited in 2007 and most recently released "Fading" (2023).
