Doc Wenz

Doc Wenz & The Melancholics is a band based in Mannheim, fronted by Jochen Wenz (Doc Wenz) on vocals and guitar. He formed the group after ten years away from his previous band, the independent brass ensemble Mardi Gras.BB, joined by Javier de la Poza on bass, Florian Schlechtriemen on drums and Simon Seeleuther on pedal steel. Their sound is traditional singer-songwriting, always a little pensive and romantic, drawing comparisons to Zander Schloss and Howie Gelb with traces of Memphis soul.
