Duo Columban

Duo Columban is a folk duo from Ratingen, Germany, consisting of Peter Baumann (vocals, string instruments) and Jens Barabasch (flutes, bagpipes). Through numerous stays in Ireland, the pair collected traditional and contemporary melodies, songs and stories from Celtic countries, which they perform on traditional instruments such as bagpipes, tin whistle, wooden flute, hand harmonica and various string instruments. They occasionally blend inherited playing styles with jazz elements and encourage audience sing-alongs and clapping.
