Epitaph

Epitaph formed in the winter of 1969/70 at Dortmund's Fantasio club when blues pianist Günter Boas recruited guitarist James McGillivray and bandmates as his backing group, quickly leading to a Polydor contract and their debut album in 1971. Pioneers of German rock, they blended psychedelic progressive elements with hard rock, becoming the first German band to tour and record in the USA in 1972, while delivering high-energy performances at major festivals and on TV shows like Beat-Club. Over five decades, they've released numerous albums and live recordings, maintaining a dedicated following with their classic rock sound.
