Escape With Romeo, founded in 1989 in Cologne, Germany, by guitarist and singer Thomas Elbern after leaving Pink Turns Blue, blends post-punk, dark-wave, and melancholic pop with driving rhythms and heartfelt lyrics. Their breakthrough hit 'Somebody' from the debut album propelled them to extensive tours across Germany and Europe, including milestones like early gigs in Spain and Switzerland, while maintaining a DIY ethic through their own label Zeitklang. Current members include Karl Hamacher, Martin Hesselbach, Silvio Franolic, and Thomas Elbern, delivering captivating live performances that have evolved over three decades of romantic, gothic-infused rock.
