Ex Deo

Ex Deo is a Canadian symphonic death metal band from Montréal, founded by Maurizio Iacono, the vocalist of Kataklysm. The project fuses heavy, melodic death metal with orchestral arrangements and is built around the history and mythology of the Roman Empire. Each album tells its own historical chapter: the debut "Romulus" deals with the origins of Rome, "Caligvla" and "The Thirteen Years of Nero" portray Roman emperors, and "The Immortal Wars" chronicles the Punic Wars. With choir-driven anthems, crushing riffs and a cinematic sound, Ex Deo has earned a reputation for "Epic Roman Metal" and releases through Napalm Records.
