Fido Plays Zappa

FiDOplaysZAPPA is a Basel-based tribute band that has devoted itself to the music of Frank Zappa since 2003, developing his complex mix of rock, jazz, avant-garde, humor and improvisation further rather than simply replaying the originals. The band toured several times with former Zappa singer Robert Martin (in Zappa's band 1981–1988), who departed in autumn 2025 for health reasons. Afterwards the band launched a new touring concept, 'FiDO FiVE', presenting its five instrumentalists as frontmen.
