Grenzkontrolle

Grenzkontrolle is a Cologne-based band moving stylistically between post-punk, punk rock and political art, whose German-language political lyrics evoke the Neue Deutsche Welle of the 1980s. The band is led by singer and guitarist Don L. Gaspár Ali, with Lara Melissa Roth (Roza Rot) on drums and Tybalt Bischoff (Kodia Funk) on guitar. Ali grew up in the Kölnberg high-rise housing estate in Cologne and worked as a human-rights activist. The band has released the EPs "Edelweiß" and "Piraten".
