Punk

Haydamaky is a Ukrainian band founded in 1991 in Kyiv, initially performing as Aktus in Kyiv's underground scene before renaming to Haydamaky after signing with EMI International in 2001. The band blends rock, dub, punk and ska with Ukrainian and Balkan folk music from regions such as Polesia, Bukovina and Transcarpathia, in a style they call "Carpathian Ska". Haydamaky has played major European festivals including Sziget, Pohoda and Viljandi Folk; their 2008 album "Kobzar" reached seventh place on the World Music Charts Europe.
