Heathen Foray is a melodic death metal and Viking metal band founded in autumn 2005 in Graz, Styria, Austria. The band deliberately avoids flutes and other typical folk-metal instruments as well as keyboards, focusing instead on guitar work with extensive soloing, and draws its lyrical themes from North Germanic sagas and myths.
