Helheim is a Norwegian band founded in Bergen in 1992 and one of the pioneers of the Viking metal genre. Their debut album "Jormundgand" was recorded at Grieghallen and released in 1995 via Solistitium Records, with later albums following on Massacre Records and Dark Essence Records. The band fuses black metal with Norse mythology and themes of death and Viking belief.
