Ilmarinen

Ilmarinen is a Dutch epic folk metal band formed in 2016. They combine distorted guitars and growls with folk instruments such as violin and whistles alongside keyboard arrangements, setting old folk tales, legends and Norse/Germanic myths to music. Their live shows are theatrical and draw the audience actively into the story. In 2025 the band released "Ascension", the first chapter of a concept album about Ragnar Lodbrok.
