International Music

International Music is a trio formed in 2015 in Essen, Germany, consisting of Peter Rubel (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Pedro Goncalves Crescenti (bass, vocals) and Joel Roters (drums). Their sound blends indie rock, post-punk, neo-psychedelia and noise-pop with German-language, melancholic lyrics, and critics have noted krautrock and psychedelic influences. Their first two albums, "Die besten Jahre" (2018) and "Ententraum" (2021), were released on the Staatsakt label, while the third, "Endless Rüttenscheid" (2024), came out on the band's own label Timeless Melancholic Music. They won the popNRW Prize as best newcomers in 2018 and the German Music Authors' Prize in the emerging-artist category in 2020. Rubel and Goncalves Crescenti also perform together in the project The Düsseldorf Düsterboys.
