Kettcar

Kettcar

Kettcar is an indie-rock band formed in 2001 in Hamburg, Germany, associated with the "Hamburger Schule" scene. Singer and guitarist Marcus Wiebusch and bassist Reimer Bustorff previously played in the hardcore band …But Alive; the lineup also includes Lars Wiebusch (keyboards), Erik Langer (guitar) and Christian Hake (drums). When no label would release their debut, Wiebusch and Bustorff co-founded the independent label Grand Hotel van Cleef together with Thees Uhlmann of Tomte. Their debut album "Du und wieviel von deinen Freunden" (2002) appeared on that label, followed by records including "Von Spatzen und Tauben, Dächern und Händen" (2005), "Sylt" (2008) and "Ich vs. Wir" (2017). The band is known for its German-language lyrics, often marked by political and social engagement.
