Korn is an American band formed in Bakersfield, California, in 1993. The band is known as a pioneer of the nu metal genre, characterized by its incorporation of elements from alternative metal, funk, hip hop, and industrial music. Korn's distinctive sound features downtuned guitars, syncopated rhythms, and Jonathan Davis's unique vocal style, which often includes scat singing and emotional screams. They achieved mainstream success in the mid-1990s and have continued to be a prominent force in the metal scene, influencing numerous subsequent artists. The band has sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and garnered multiple Grammy Awards.
