MODERN ENGLISH

Modern English is a post-punk and new wave band from Colchester, England, formed in 1979. The band gained international fame with their hit "I Melt with You" (1982), which became one of the most iconic new wave anthems of the 1980s. Their early sound was heavily influenced by the 4AD-era post-punk scene before they moved toward a more accessible synth-pop style.
