Ear Demolition Day Part III
EXIT Club, Schwedt/oder
Mortis Dei belong to the first generation of Polish death metal: formed in Bydgoszcz in 1992, they play a technical, deliberately brutal strain of the genre. Early rehearsal and demo recordings from the nineties were followed by the albums "My Lovely Enemy", "Last Failure" and "Salvation Never Comes", and later "The Bringers Of Death". A long list of musicians has passed through the ranks over the years, among them members of Sammath Naur and Vesania. The lyrics circle death, pain and anti-Christian themes, delivered with the dry, riff-driven attack that has always marked the Bydgoszcz scene.
