Pražský výběr

Pražský výběr was founded in Prague in 1976 by Michael Kocáb, initially as a jazz combo before becoming a rock and new wave band in the early 1980s. The group is regarded as one of the most significant Czech new wave bands and was banned by the Communist regime from 1983 to 1986 before returning to activity in the late 1980s. Bandleader Michael Kocáb later also became known as a politician, including as a mediator during the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
