Roberto Jacketti & The Scooters

Roberto Jacketti & The Scooters are a Dutch pop/rock band formed in 1980 in De Rijp (Zaanstreek) by keyboardist Robbert Jak and schoolmates. The band's name is a playful Italianized version of Jak's name, with 'The Scooters' referencing the popular Italian mode of transport. Their biggest success was the single 'I Save The Day' (1984), which reached number 2 on the Dutch charts, alongside 'Make Me Cry'; the band appeared 13 times on the TV show TopPop. After disbanding in 1988, they have reunited for occasional performances since 2003.
