Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in Fullerton, California, in 1978. The band experienced lineup changes early in its career, with vocalist and guitarist Mike Ness remaining the only consistent member. Social Distortion blends punk rock with blues, country, and early rock and roll influences. They are considered one of the most important punk bands and have influenced countless artists. After some early independent releases, they signed with a major label and achieved mainstream success. The band continues to tour and record, maintaining a dedicated fanbase.
