SPIDER MURPHY GANG

Spider Murphy Gang was founded in Munich in 1977 by Günther Sigl, Gerhard Gmell, Michael Busse and Franz Trojan. The band's name references the character "Spider Murphy" from Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock." They are best known for their number-one hit "Skandal im Sperrbezirk" (1981), a defining track of the Neue Deutsche Welle era, and many of their songs are sung in Bavarian dialect.
