The Convent

The Convent are a German-Dutch post-punk/new wave band formed in 1985 in Zeven near Bremen around singer Carlo van Putten. Their debut "Counting the Stars" (1993) and "Tales from the Frozen Forest" (1994) were produced by Mark Burgess of The Chameleons, and the band later worked closely with Adrian Borland of The Sound. After a hiatus from 2002 to 2009 they are active again and toured their 30th anniversary in 2016.
