The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, founded in Utrecht in 2000, is regarded as a pioneer of so-called dark jazz or doom jazz. Built around founders Jason Köhnen and Gideon Kiers, albums like the self-titled debut (2006) and "From the Stairwell" (2011) blend jazz, ambient and dark cinematic atmospheres.
