The Spirit is a blackened death metal band formed in 2015 in Saarbrücken, Germany, around vocalist/guitarist Matthias Trautes and drummer Manuel Steitz. Their sound fuses the icy melody of 1990s Scandinavian black metal with the force of death metal. The band is signed to Nuclear Blast Records.
