The Tennors

The Tennors are a Jamaican rocksteady and reggae vocal group formed in Kingston in the mid-1960s by Albert George "Clive" Murphy and Maurice "Professor" Johnson as the "Tennor Twins", later joined by Norman Davis. In 1967 their Studio One recording "Pressure and Slide" became one of Jamaica's major hits of the year, and the group was among the first to use the word "reggae" in a song title; their 1968 follow-up "Ride Yu Donkey" became a signature track. The band split in the mid-1970s and reunited in 2012 around Clive Tennors.
